Question Wheel Arch Installation - Rivet Gun

I am going to replace my broken wheel arch. I have read that you need to buy a plastic rivet gun fron NAPA. Is there any difference between a "plastic" rivet gun and a regular one?? The one I have comes with various apertures to accomodate different sized rivets....

Thanks!!!!!!

This one at NAPA is meant for plastic rivets and therefore better for wheel arches install. Have not worked with metal rivets gun so don't really know. I used the one shown below and had no problems.

NAPA rivet gun for platcic rivets

A metal one should work just fine... if the insert is snug on the stem of the plastic rivits....

Well... the plastic rivits will not fit into the rivet gun. You do need the NAPA rivit gun for the plastic rivits. I decided to use the push type rivets and none of the plastic rivits........

The "push type" do not need a rivet gun. You simply push in the "plunger" part and it expands. They are the rivets that come with the wheel arch:

I believe thay are number 5......

FYI, on most rivit guns there is an insert, looks like a nut with a hole in it, that the stem of a rivit is inserted into. This insert is removable and different sizes of rivits can be used when you changed out the insert.

Correct. However, when I went to purchase a rivet gun at Home Depot none of the adjustable larger sizes would fit the BMW plastic rivet. The push type are far easier.......

Well I got my parts from Morristown, I didn't see any push Rivots. So I should get them from BMW to install my wheel arches?
