Why am I not getting Heat in the Car?

Hi,

just bought X5 diesel Sports - 2005 . It has auto air con

I am not getting any hot air in the car despite temperature guage beign at 1/2 mark

I set the left&right temp gauage to 30C and pressed the button with the fan picture but no hot air. I think the AC works though

That is really strange. I thought filtered hot air is just normally diverted from the engine bay into the car or is there something I ma doing wrong.

If its a genuine problem, is it covered bme under waranty?

Perhaps a silly thing but is that little dial in the center of the two front vents with a blue side and a red side turned to the red? That might make a difference. That dial is discussed in the owner's manual.

Thanks, You got to forgive us villiage folks, not used to car gadgets

I'll go and give that a try.

still on subject of heating, B4 I upgraded the NAV OS to ver31 I was not able to select Aux Heating, but Now I can, strange.

Is there anything Visual that I can See to suggest the car has Aux heating ?

cheers

Actually, the interior is heated by two small radiators under the dasboard. Hot coolant from the engine is diverted to the radiators as needed. If all of the heat controls are in the proper position and you are still not getting heat, the coolant valves are suspect.
