I have a 2002 X5 and cannot figure out how to remove the sliding cargo cover in the back.

I had this problem once also.

Yoiu have to grab hold with both hands just about shoulder width apart and the push to the right hand side. This will allow for the left to pop out. If that does not work go in the opposite direction. That is how I remember getting it out. If I missed anything i'm sure someone here will follow up and correct me.

It has an "unlocking" feature. Gather it all towards the front. Grab it on the end and give it a good push directly towards the front of the car. Then push vertically, it will lift right out. Do the same for the other side.

Be sure to see how it is installed because getting it out is the easy part.

Putting it back in is a bit more challenging. It took me about 5 tries (10 minutes) to get it back on its tracks and aligned properly. Having done it once, I could probably now remove it in 10 seconds and put it back together in a minute or 2.
