Hello all, I know this is an American site and is predominantly used by, er.... Americans! But i was just wondering (as a car is a car) if any of you have experienced the same as me?
The other day the gas needle was in the same place as it always is before its time to for me to put gas in (not tellin ya where, cos I'll get shot, needless to say there a few miles left on the range!!!). Anyway I thought I'd put in some SUPER, rather than PREMIUM. Still cheaper than diesel, so what the hell, right?!! And to see if there was a noticeable difference in performance.
I put the same £60 in which gets me just over half a tank, but the RANGE was far greater than it normally shows. It said I had a range of 212 miles, as opposed to 180+ I usually get. This came up when I put the key in, and before I set off!!! Also, because SUPER costs more per litre I got LESS fuel in the tank for the SAME £60 I put in....
Since driving the car on SUPER, I have noticed that the range isn't going down as rapidly, and also the car is soooooo much smoother in EVERY driving condition.
- Has this happened to anyone else?
- Is this proof that there really is a difference in fuel economy and performance with the higher octane level?
- How did the car recognise I had put SUPER in BEFORE I started driving???? That is WIERD!!!
