new x5 owner - a few questions

Hello all,

I am a new ownder of a 2003 X5 3.0i. I just bought the car on Tuesday and absolutely love it thus far. I had a Z3 a few years ago and must say I love the X5 as much. I have a few questions...

1) I have a telephone button on my radio and I have a head speaking on my steering wheel... does this mean I have some sort of telephone capability??

2) I am an avid sirius listener and I need to have it connected to my OEM radio. I have seen the blitzsafe product that goes in the trunk... is this is the only/best option?

3) I have sprayers on my headlights... how do I activate those

I guess that is all for now, I am sure I will have some more as I become more familiar with the truck. Thanks

You have telephone capability, but in 2003 that was limited to using the BMW mobile phone. I think a vendor on this site has a retrofit option for Bluetooth on earlier BMWs, if you wish to do so.

The headlamp washers I believe are activated when the headlamps are on and you wash the windshield. They are sprayed the first time, and then every 5th (?) time after that.

1. Unless the previous owner had a Bluetooth kit installed, you don't have phone integration at this point. You can easily retrofit this, though. There are great instructions on how to do this in our Bluetooth section - http://www.xoutpost.com/bluetooth.php

2. You can install the BMW Sirius kit as well. Lots of info on the home page in the STEREO section - http://www.xoutpost.com/

3. They should come on themselves evey 4th time you use the windshield washers. To do them manually, press the "S" button on the stalk (super wash)

wow... lot of great info on the homepage! Quick question... will the aux input BMW part # 82 11 0 149 390 work on my 03 w/o nav and w/o dsp? Do I have the correct harness behind the head unit?

THANKS
