very sluggish 3.0d
I have a 2004 3.0d and out of the blue the performance has become laughable, up steep slopes I need to floor the pedal to ascend whereas before the torque and acceleration was superb. From a standstill it is a shadow of what it used to be. At standstill and on revving I cannot see any black smoke from the exhausts, just wondering if the diesel I put in it was below par or whether I need to add redex?or could the turbo have packed in? it has 31000miles on the clock any ideas would be much appreciated.ta

I had the same problem only yesterday after picking the car up from servicing.
When I nailed tthe pedal it was very sluggish 40mph up hill. The problem was a hose off the turbo.... hey presto away the lads again. Hope this helps. |

thanks
thanks for that, I have managed to locate the turbo unit its under the air con piping on the left of the engine and can only see one thin blue hose coming off it, but it is a place that I cannot access, so gotta wait tillmonday to get it checked out. It is well frustrating as the car was quick until a couple of days ago. If the mass air flow sensor goes or gets drity are the symptoms the same?

I was getting 31.0 miles per gallon, since the issue I have not driven it much to see if that drops, if the consumption goes up what would that indicate?
