Good CPO Coverage (Finally!)

Took my '02 X5 into the stealer this morning to have coolant looked into as it said coolant was low and they call back with a list of items, all of which were covered under CPO..

1.) Side view passenger mirror gets stuck in position in reverse. New motors assemply to be installed $0

2.) Instrument cluster, dead pixels, new cluster $0

3.) Cracked coolant resevoir causing low coolant problem, $0

4.) AC wasn't blowing cold air when stopped, New Auxilary fan $0

5.) Didn't catch the last one fully, but something about a cracked differential that needs to be replaced under warranty. $0.

Fortuantely all this stuff is getting done before my waranty expires October 30, 2008. So trying to catch every little thing to get it covered.

Just figured I would share a good experience for once

Wonderful. I had the same experiences with my CPO. Mainly because the SA and I were on very good terms.

Everything except wear and tear items (i.e pads and rotors) which actually I did get covered since a caliper seized so they covered that as well a few months back.

Oh ok thanks. But my pads and rotors are covered until 2009 aren't they? Since that is when the 4 year warranty ends and 2011 is when the extended warranty ends.

Remember that the US is the only place so far that has 4yr/50K maintenance standard (if that is what you are thinking about).

Outside of the states, I don't think maintenance is covered.

My x5 has 4 years or 80,000 km and i also have exteneded so it is 6 years or i think 160,000 km. I know my oil changes are not free anymore but my 4 year ends in april of next year. Then after that it is the extenedd warranty which covers major problems. So I think the pads and rotors are covered till 09?

Pads and rotors are wear items, just like tires or gas, and not covered by a general warranty. They could be covered by a maintenance plan if you had one.
