Nav Monitor

I'd like to update my MKIII nav to a 16X9 monitor. Is this what I am looking for on my 2001 4.4?

Would you be willing to buy this sort of thing off EBay? I'd like the MKIV too but it's not in the budget right now.

As usual, thanks for the input.

Yes, that is what you need to go from a 4:3 screen to a 16:9 screen. The seller looks to have a good feedback history. Just use normal eBay buying precautions and you should be fine.

If you haven't already reviewed it, see this article on how to do the retrofit - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all-...-retrofit.html

Do I also need to buy the plastic frame that goes around the monitor?

It appears to be included in the eBay auction link you referenced above.

If you were unable to change out the computer (from MK111 to MKIV), do you still think it is worthwhile to spend $600 changing the screen? Does the 16x9 enable you to see the map more clearly and see more street names? Thanks.

I changed my nav screen first, and upgraded to the MkIV about 9 months later. The screen upgrade, in my opinion, was well worth it. It not only has a larger screen, but updates and improves the look of the interior significantly.

Thanks, UCrew.
I wish I could answer one of your questions at some point, but that doesn't seem very likely.

Does anyone know the difference between these 2 part numbers:

65.52-6 913 387
and
65-52-6 934 413

I couldn't find either on realoem.
By the pictures on EBay, they look like the same part (16x9 monitor).
