What's the market like now for selling? I know the book value - I'm asking about the
I'm in the DC region, and I'm just wondering if I should try to sell on my own or trade it in. Thanks.

trade it in, my neighbor is a wholesaler and the market has never been worse. Last dealer I talked to said "we aren't taking SUV trades right now because we can't move them"
So if you have the option, trade it unless you can afford to sit and just wait it out.

Check Galves for most current values
http://www.galves.com/ Friend of mine owns a dealership and all SUV's are getting hammered and especially the lower end of the SUV market - Ford explorers etc. They are taking trade ins but not giving close to Kelly values.

the lease on my x ended in early june. the buyout price was 36K. i was able to buy it from the dealer for 31.5k. the market for sellers is horrible.
