This Happened to me at the Dealer Today...

There are a lot of threads about whining at the dealer.

I had an appointment to have a heater hosed replaced. It was on order, was diagnosed a couple of days ago. Low Coolant Light.

Said to bring the car in at 8:30 was a 3 hour job. That made me a little nervous, although I have an extended warranty.

When I got there the tech said it would not take 3 hours but the car needed to cool and handed me a plastic block with buttons and metal, walked outside and said here take this and I will call you when its done.

A 2008 328i, Too bad the roads were all slush.

Called me in about 2 1/2 hrs. I pulled in, my car was parked in front, freshly washed.

He said your all set handed me the bill which came to $73.00 and said no charge.

Pretty nice for a 2001 X5 4.4 and an extended warranty, which after reading, does not cover most radiator hoses.
