So I made up some lame excuse for my wife to run to Target at 9pm tonight in this snow storm and jumped in the X5 4.4 w/ new snow tires - michelin pilot alpin 17" in our 6+ inches. Wow. I went where ever I wanted. Then I started playing w/ the DSC button. OMG! I had never pushed it and tried to rotate the thing before, mostly because she is in it when I drive it. Suffice it to say, I drifted into Target and then took a while to find just the right parking spot. On the way home, I found the steepest hill and stopped. No prob w/ or w/o dsc on, better try that hill again. W/ dsc on it would brake to prevent wheel spin, w/o it it would nicely let me spin the wheels to what ever rpm I wanted---6k sounds real nice in that V8. Later in some unsuspecting church parking lot doing donuts, I engaged DSC and like a hand from no where the X5 righted itself and the fun was over, until I turned it off again!
I love these cars! Chuck |
