Differences between <'03 and 04+ comfort seats?

When I was shopping for my X, I wanted comfort seats. The car I bought was too close to what I wanted to pass up so I got one with the M-textur interior. I didn't want the alcantara so I planned to swap out interiors with someone who had a leather/comfort interior, figuring someone would want the alcantara sport seats. Since then i've decided I like the M-textur and wish to keep it, but unfortunately it was not offered on comfort seats...

~SO~

I had an idea of finding comfort seats and buying the raw alcantara material from BMW to redo the centers so they match the rest of my interior. Turns out the 4.6 and 4.8 have different style comfort seats. Below are pictures to illustrate the way the material is cut. The 4.6 style matches the quilting of my interior whereas the 4.8 stuff has a more intricate design.

The controls look the same on all the pictures ive seen but I wanted to make sure they both articulate & adjust the same number of ways before I start hunting for 4.6 seats instead...

4.6

4.8
