Just bought a CPO 2006 X5, how did I do?
Today I purchased a CPO 2006 X5, 3.0, 22,000 miles, with NAV, SPORT, PREMIUM, heated seats, 6 disk, sensors; I think this car has just about all the options. The vehicle looks to be well cared for in and out. I paid $34,500 out the door with tax and tags ($31,450 purchase price, they had it listed at $37,999). How do you all think I did? My only concern up to this point is the audio system seems to be rather ho hum. I kinda figured it would be a bit nicer? Thanks |

You did well price wise for sure. I read today that SUV sales are down 37.5% from last year. Just remember that you will also have to be ready to take the hit when it comes time for you to trade in/sell. As for the sound system, everyone will definately agree, it's pretty terrible. If you want to keep the factory navigation, look into the stage 1 upgrade from BSW who is a sponsor of this forum. It basically replaces all 10 speakers.

For a price comparison, I bought a fully loaded 2005 X5 4.4i with 35,000 miles, CPO from the dealer for $27,000 + tax. Considering you have a newer car, with less miles I think you did pretty good! Congrats!!!!

Maintainence
It is Sterling Gray with the Truffle Brown Dakota Leather. I have the sticker, it had a MSRP of $55,370.
I was contemplating getting the extended service from the dealer for 2K. I just spoke with my local German car shop (works on BMW, excellent reputation), he said that BMW undermaintains their vehicles and that he would recommend more frequent oil changes (7500 miles) for one. I originally passed on the extended service, I do have a 6/100 warranty being a CPO. My plan is once my maintenence expires, take it to the local shop for maintenence. I believe that they may be more up front regarding issues that can be covered under warranty; then back to BMW dealer to fix it. |
