HELP!! Steering Wheel noise

Does anyone steering wheel make a knocking noise when turning it from side to side? Anyone get the problem fix yet? i brought it to the dealer to get it fix but they said that it was normal but when i first got the car it wasnt like this until few months later.

2003 X5 3.0d, no noise with my wheel, sorry. Personally I would insist they invenstigate, you`ve bought a luxury SUV which shouldn`t make annoying noises that spoil the drive.

It's not normal...! You may have to get one of the foreman with you got a drive to let them understand what the actual problem is.

Mine just went in for some minor repairs, along with this problem. They adjusted the coupling on the steering...it's now better, but I can still feel the problem been there.

There was a mod on the steering coupling, something to do with excessive play. Turn the wheel 1/2 turn from left to right with the engine off..if there is excessive play it could be the rack...I know as mine does this.
