Blue connector at right hand side in the boot

I have a 2003 X5 3.0d (UK spec) and in the boot, inside the right hand side compartment (might be left on USA spec cars?) there`s a cable with a blue connector just cable tied down doing nothing. I`m assuming this is pre wired for something to slot in, but what goes there?

Thanks.

If it's a 26 pin plug, it's for the voice module.

Does it look like the blue plug shown in this link?

No, it`s at the opposite side of the car to the DVD and CD players etc.. I`m wondering if it`s for a playstation or other in car entertainment??

Isn't that the blue plug that needs to be jumped when you install the bluetooth module? ie. you need to buy the jumper plug from bmw if you don't already have it, etc etc.

Are you talking about this? i asked about this last week. If so, it is where the voice recognition module plugs into.

The car already have bluetooth and comms pack etc so I dont think it`s for bluetooth. I`ve attached a pic, the cabling and stuff on the left is for the aftermarket DVD.

I believe that is the plug that needs to be jumped if you have bluetooth. You have the jumper plug in the pic. Most of the X5s came with it even without BT.

There`s no jumper plug in my picture. Mine is just a blue connector all on it`s own, just waiting for something. I wonder if it`s just to do with the UK spec cars? or even just my car.... Will I ever know?
