SELECTOR BUSH

Hi Guys!

I was experiencing some problems with my gear selector on a 2002 4.6 iS

Sometimes it wouldnt shift into D smoothly, it would jam up

Also, I found that if I moved the selector into steptronic that I would have to jiggle it to get it back into D

So I took it to my good friend mechanic and we discovered that after lifting the leather cover around the gear selector, that there are two white coloured plastic conical bushes that have are cracked/broken

So I tried to order this part and BMW say I have to buy the whole assembly! AUD $1100+. On top of that the part is not in stock and I would have to wait ages to get it in.

I have tried the wreckers but cant seem to find anyone that would have these inexpensive bushes.

I would be most grateful if anyone here help me out or point me in the right direction?

I tried searching but couldnt seem to find anymore on this. Its worth noting that one wrecker said he has had a couple of calls for these parts over the past month, so a common problem?

I dont have a photo yet - but when I go to the mechanic next time I will grab one on my phone to upload

Regards

seafarer
