Sirius Radio FM Direct Adapter

I installed one of these in my Ford F-150. Piece of cake. Would like to do the same in my 2003 X5 with the basic radio and single CD player. Can anyone advise how to remove this radio? Do I need special ant. adapters? Thanks for advice in advance.

I solved the removal. Remove the volume control knob by firmly pulling the knob off. Next take a torx #10 and turn the small screw under the volume shaft 90 degrees to the left ---but hold the torx head in that position while prying the bottom of the unit with a small flat blat screw driver.
The head of the unit should now come free.

The removal of the radio is now a matter of using the same #10 torx head to loosen the 2 screws on the unit---turn left until the tension allows the unti to be removed.

Good luck

Why are you removing the stereo for this mod? Get an XM commander and blitzsafe converter and thats it... If you can go XM.
