I solved the removal. Remove the volume control knob by firmly pulling the knob off. Next take a torx #10 and turn the small screw under the volume shaft 90 degrees to the left ---but hold the torx head in that position while prying the bottom of the unit with a small flat blat screw driver.
The head of the unit should now come free. The removal of the radio is now a matter of using the same #10 torx head to loosen the 2 screws on the unit---turn left until the tension allows the unti to be removed. Good luck |

Why are you removing the stereo for this mod? Get an XM commander and blitzsafe converter and thats it...
If you can go XM.
