Sports Suspension question

Just wondering how harsh is the ride on X with a sports package because of stiff suspension. I like the sports seats and steering which comes with the sports package but not sure about the suspension.

Actually sport seats don't always come with sport package. I have the "sport suspension" and while you can tell it is stiffer, you notice it more in cornering than you do on ride comfort/discomfort. I would definately recommend.

You're going to get lots of opinions either way. Most who have the sport susp. love it. It's one of those things you must decide by feeling it yourself. I have it and none of my passengers have ever complained about discomfort, and my girlfriend is a cream puff. We recently went on a 6 hour road trip with 5 people and not a single complaint. I have received numerous comments about how flat it stays through the corners, however.

I already purchased 06 X5 Sterling Grey/Gray Premium package, Sport package but it is on way from CA to TX. I think I never realised about the suspension part. I was impressed with sports package because of its steering wheel and 18 wheels and sports seats. I hope I did not make a wrong decision.

If you like to drive and prefer a "tighter/firmer" ride, and aren't
coming from a Lexus, et al, you will like it.

Your '06 will have a couple years of "softening up" on the
suspension and on non-potholed rides, you should enjoy it, imo.

Be sure to set tire psi at ~32, not overfilled, and go for a ride
when you get it!

My wife has a Lexus IS350 with sports suspension. The steering is light and the suspension is bumpy. It could also be from her 19s, however they are stock. The suspension on my X5 is a lot better. It corners better and rides better. I'm not too mechanical, so I can't explain all the technical stuff , but for sure it rides a lot better than most cars out there. I wouldn't even use the term harsh ride for the X5. I would use better feel for the road and great cornering. I have a 4.4 with 19s. The steering wheel is a major plus. That was another reason I chose sport package. The other steering wheel is ugly and boring to me... no offense to non-sport steering wheel Xs, just personal preference.

Be reassured you made an excellent choice in options.

I have an '04 with Sports. Bought it for the seats, but the suspension is nice too. Have since lowered it with the H&R lowering set, which actually smoothed out the ride a bit, especially in the rear, while lowering the car about 1.5" and most definitely improving the looks.

I hav ean 02 4.4 with the sport package and wouldn't have it any other way. Corners great and the ride is comfortable for my taste.

I do agree that everyone is different, so you really do have to feel the sports and non-sports suspension to tell for yourself.

I say good choice and congrats!

I have Sports package with the comfort seats. The ride comfort is very good. I think the main improvement is in roll resitance and squat/dive. I highly recommend the sports package.
