Peake R5/FCX2 on a 2002 X5 3.0i ?

Can anyone here confirm that the older FCX2 Peake fault code scanner can be used on a 2002 X5 3.0i (or newer)???

My parents in Canada have an 02 X5 and they have a CEL. I was going to mail them my FCX2, but the Peake support person wasn't sure if the 2002 X5 had the MS43 or the newer MS45.1 ECU. He told me the older FCX2 won't work with the newer MS45.1 ECU.

So, much help would be appreciated before i waste my effort mailing my peake tool to Canada. It would help if you happen to know if it's MS43 or MS45.1 too...

Thanks much!
