Dilemma with X5

Still no official work on the X5 whether it will be totalled or not. I am thinking if it is....maybe a 2002 or 03 4.6is. It looks like a few are going up for sale and I may be able to get one relatively cheap...as far as a 4.6is goes. Has anyone compared insurance rates between the 4.4 and 4.6is. Is there a big difference.

Just thinking out loud here..

Philip

Should go for post-2003 X5. I doubt there is much difference in insurance rates. Call Geico and save a ton.

I dont want to go much over 40k...nor do I want 3.0 liter. I have driven an 04 4.4 and 4.8 and cant tell much of a difference between a pre 04 4.4 or 4.8..

Of course...as soon as I find a nice 4.6...they will tell me X5 is not totalled. I have Geico...so far..they have been real good to me. We will see how things turn out with the X5. The at fault driver is also insured with Geico, so I am sure that will help things speed along.

Philip,
I have seen some great deals on 02 & 03 4.6's lately. One silver 03' with 17,000miles for mid 40's on ebay.

Good luck

ebay always have lower prices then what you will see at the dealerships. I personally wouldn’t buy a car without seeing it and driving it first.

Just saying Hi...great price on my 4.4

I am a new 4.4 owner. I picked up an 01 4.4 certified $26,600 with 44k miles in Pa last week. Which is far less than ebay ...I found it on Cars.com. I feel really scored. Buy anyway...Gello to all.

Congrats on your purchase. Your first post, I notice. Post some pics of your ride, and welcome to the board!
