Man, I still have my front cigarette lighter out and was told warranty would not cover the repair. Thanks for the input. I'll give it a shot.

Hmmm. Unless there was some serious trauma, one would have to wonder how a wire would break.

I bought my X5 used at CarMax and it came with a 30 day/3k mile warranty.
I also bought the 60 month/60k mile extended warranty.

I have no idea.
All I did was plug in the unplug my portable GPS.

Who knows ... CarMax might just be blowing smoke up my a$$, but as long as it works.

I'll get out there this weekend to see if and/or how they re-wired it.

Just replaced the fuse for my cig lighter. It works now. Got lucky. Thanks to this post, I figured out my little problem.... now my radar detector works

I tried fuses upon fuses, odd how CPO doesn't cover something like this.
