Help???? With X5 2003 multi function steering wheel

Please can you help, all the buttons on the multi funchtion steering wheel do not work. Local BMW garage has looked at it twice and cannot find the fault. They have changed the pcb and checked power to the buttons all seem fine.
Anyone else had a problem like this?

Did they check the "Clock Spring" that feeds power plus signals to and from the steering wheel?
A broken wire here will prevent signals getting from the wheel to the harness in the steering column. The plugs on the rear of the wheel connect to the "Clock Spring".

Many thnaks for this I can ask the garage to check this, or is there an easy way to dismantle the wheel to check the clock spring.
