Wheel lock cap...

So i ordered a new wheel lock set and had it installed at dealer. I noticed the plastic caps were missing, so I called stealer and they said the caps were discontinued as too many people were complaining that they kept falling off. Why discontinue a product if there's a demand for it?

Or is there...

I hate those caps. When you want to take them off they stick really well. When you put them back on they almost fall out by themselves.

I assume your order came with the caps... ...

dkl...any criminal, prepared to absorb the time and energy(not to mention the possibility of getting caught) necessary to steal 4, 20" tires, would probably be aware that a once $70k vehicle would already have wheel locks.

The point is that I paid for a product. The caps are an accessory of that product...regardless of their functionality (or lack of).

When did you purchase your set? She's going back to the stealer this Friday to have some work finished...I'll ask about them again. If they don't provide, I'll just purchase them. They're in the accessories catalog for .35cents i believe.

If the product is in demand as they keep "falling off", then i guess the profitable thing is to do is make it an accessory at a price. Business as usual it seems...

Why all the fuss about those tiny little caps? The lugs and locks are black and you can't really tell unless you're about a foot away. I never understood why BMW even bothered with them in the first place. The purpose of the locks are a deterrent. You would WANT potential criminals to see that you have those locks right from the start and move on. The last thing you want is for a criminal to discover the lock after the 4th or 5th lugs into the crime, now realizing there's more obstacles to overcome; gets pissed off and smashed your windows and scratch up your car.

36136752592 is the plastic caps according to the accessories catalog. They don't come with the locks, instead, they're about 25 cents a piece.
