Pre 2005 or 2005+??

Hello,

I know this is kinda stupid question but was just wondering how I can find out my car is pre 2005 or 2005+?
and also for bluetooth, how to check if I have Visteon Module or Motorola Module?

Thank you!

Not sure but I believe that if you have both BMW assist and bluetooth then you have Motorola.

Check the vin sticker on the drivers door jamb for your production date.

pretty simple.. see what year your owner's manual says... 2004 or 2005.

Also I think anything built after July of 04 would be an 05 Model Year car.

Actually they started in late Sept 04 on 2005 models. Your title/ registration on car should read year.

Thanks guys!
I just used BMW VIN Decoder and says Production date 2004 / 10
so that means I have 2005+ model?

In the U.S. a production date of 10/04 would be a 2005 model. All 2005's with the Premium package come with the Motorola combo Assist/Bluetooth module.

Thank you UCrewX5!
my Bluetooth isn't working very well, only could pair with phone 1 time, then couldn't make any more connections.
so I was wondering if my BT module has some problem or else,
should I need to go dealershop to recode 644/633?
found this thing from BT troubleshooting guide.
btw, I'm using Sony Ericsson K750i

I would stop by a Cingular store (or find a friend) and try out the Motorola V551 to see if it has similar issues. It's possible you have a bad Bluetooth module. You may also want to see if your dealer will upgrade you to the latest module, which is part number 84 10 6 965 056 (see http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...icle&artid=171)

^Thanks again,

yeah I would like to check with other phones, if I get same result.
but I'm pretty positive it's module problem.
I staill can pair SE k750i and Samsung D500 with my PC, but when I used those phones with my X5,
I had to search the device more than 2 times, even sometimes it said "couldn't find any device"
