CRAP........ key remote not working......... #^&#@#%

BAd day. X5 was in the body shop for a week getting dents and other little things taken care of .......... which they did a shit job. And now the remote doesn't work anymore either. what a shi-tty X5 day it has been.

Maybe the key is dead since it hadn't been driven for awhile. Drive around for a while and perhaps the key will re-charge and the remote will work again....

jburgos3 is on a distinguished road
could just be the remote hopefully it is for your wallet's sake...i had my remote not work one day tried over and over when it finally did work only passenger and two rear doors opened...i climbed in thru the passenger side and opened the driver door, drove to the dealer where i was handed a ridiculous bill to replace what i believe was the door pin and some other stuff, not really sure but i know that def wasn't a good day

there are some key threads here that warn you to regularly use BOTH keys to keep the battery in the key charged - my used 2001 came with one dead key, which I replaced - I have to admit the other original has a shorter range than the newer one

jburgos3 must have had a grande mal siezure when hitting "Post Quick Reply"

Both keys I have are dead.

The lock button on the centre console works. My buddy at the Stealership looked at the keys and played with them for a while and came up with nothing helpful. He said that I can bring the X in for service to one of the technicians @ $125 an hour and have them check it out. Not. Going to cut one of the keys open and check out the battery to see if it's still holding any charge. After that, I'm not sure. $236 for a replacement key.
