Big Disappointment!

Aloha everybody, my newbie post.

My 2005 X5 3.0i (Jet Black, Sand Beige interior, AT, Sport and Premium options) was supposed to arrive at the dealer yesterday. So like a little kid waiting for his toy, I was pretty much useless, made sure I had no appointments, and I was simply dreaming about driving the X5 all day with my wife - lunch at the other side of the island, drive up to the volcano summit lookout, picture taking at a secluded beach area and enjoy our first ever Bimmer. Not! We were tracking the wrong vehicle all along for the past seven days!

My X5 is still in transit from South Carolina to Oxnard VPC. It will be the end of September before I see my dream car. Well, I will be a basket case by then

Just wanted to share my thoughts so I don't go nuts. I will post some pictures when I get it!

BTW I've learned so much from these forums the past 5 days.

Wow... that does suck. Sorry to hear about that. Hang in there, and take some pics when you do get it. We'd love to see them.

Congratulations on you new purchase and welcome to the board.

Juan

Did I read that correctly that you are in Maui!! NO SYMPATHY!! Geez, some people never have enough...LOL...

Im sure you will have learned to appreciate this "wait" upon your first "fill up" out on the island...

I can relate to this.
This part of the X5 experience can suck,
if the wait for delivery becomes protracted.
Just keep yourself busy at something totally unrelated,
or give your garage a makeover which I did,
in preparation for the new occupant.
I cleaned the place out,
and repainted the floors.
In fact in the end, the X5 came too quickly,
as the paint on the floors was not completely dry.
But dry it eventually did,
and now all is well with the force once again.
Enjoy.

Oh no! How can you wait any longer. No human being should be forced to wait on a paradise island for a luxury SUV to arrive! I cry for you, brother, and you are in my prayers. And I thought those people in New Orleans had it tough, but they are just whiners! Cripes, man! Go get a carton of cigarettes and chain smoke or something, but dont go whining about getting your X5 a few weeks late. Sheeesh.

:welcome:

The wait is part of the process and makes it that much more exciting. Then again, I only had to wait about a week for mine. I got mine in my hot little hands about 2 weeks after it rolled off the line. It bought it while it was in transit.

I'll be in Maui the December. Can I borrow your X5?

Hi Donegal,
You must be related to my wife. This is exactly what she told me to do as soon as I broke the news that the X5 will not arrive for another 3000 years. In fact I've been planning to get this project going for the past 2 years! It's a great idea.

Sorry if I sounded like a whiner. I thought I inserted the smilies in there
Thanks for the thought anyway. Our church is organizing a group for a mission to the New Orleans area. I'm seriously thinking about being part of the group as I missed the group that went to the Sri Lanka Tsunami area last February. My wife (an RN) and my son (a Youth Pastor) went and they told me it was one of the best times in their lives.
