Picked up an '04 4.8is today!

I have been looking for a good deal on a 4.8is and found this one with 27k miles on it. I really like this truck so far! It needs the usual mods though, like the SMG steering wheel with paddle shifters, exhaust and some rear wheel spacers. I also have an E39 M5 which is more of a weekend toy, so the X5 is my daily driver. The M5 is not much fun when you're stuck in traffic!

So does anyone have a recommendation on a mild exhaust setup that doesn't drone?

Congrats on the whip. Before you sink money into an exhaust, search on here and checkout some resonator deletes.....great mod for the money........Phil

WOW! 04 is lookin' Haawt!! Very Nice!!

Nice E39 also!

I did a Supersprint exhaust - I do agree with 4.6is ryder........check into res delete, etc. etc. I deleted my res and went with an xpipe.....also I did the 30mm H&R spacers...giver her a nice stance!

Let the mods begin!!

Ha, yes the M5 is a blast to drive. It just has the Stage I chip and cat-back exhaust, and Stage I Dinan supsension.

I just looked under the X5 at the exhaust (it looks like it's never even been in the rain before!) and I see the center muffler and the two resonators at the back. Is the res delete just cutting those off and welding in a straight pipe to the tips? Where would the X-pipe go? After the center muffler?
I'll do some searching and see if I can figure it out...

Also, are these the right 30mm spacers?
