Rear Climate control

Hi, I am new to the forum as well as a new BMW driver. I own a 2001 X5 4.4 and love it. The other day I had some friends in the back who turned on the air conditioner in the rear. The fan sound came on and all seemed normal except that the air was not blowing from the vent. I could hear the blower motor running but no air?? Is there a filter that could be blocking the rear vent?
Thanks for the help in advance.

Open the arm rest and remove the console bin. Make sure the "S" shaped tube is connected.
