AV in and out

Hallo.

I have a 2004 X5 with Nav Prof (609), CD changer (672) High-Fi Prof (677) and TV (601). As part of this there is a AV in and out connection at the rear end of the consol between the front seats (easy access to these from the back seat). When I plug into the AV out connection with a camcorder I get picture and sound from the TV into the camcorder. But when I put the TV in AV mode and plug into the AV in connection I do not get picture or sound into the TV. I also tried hooking up an iPod to the AV in but did not get any sound. I asked the local BMW dealer if a special camcorder or MP3 player is required to get sound and/or picture into the TV in the car, but they do not know.

Anyone with some knowledge about the AV in and out connections? (sorry for the long note). The main reason for being interested in the AV in is that I would like to use my iPod as there is no Aux connection.

Also thanks for a good forum (just found this a few days ago).

Sigurd
