Not to sound like a numskull - but that does "re-nulled" mean?

The sensors need their "0" to be reset. The "0" will be the normal ride height. They shouldn't have been changed unless someone changed them. See if you can't get Weisel involved in the thread. He is a dealer mech and may have a lot more insight than I do.

And here I come... For the ride height I am wondering if somehow the arm on one of the sensors got switched around somehow. If you look under your truck at all 4 wheel level sensors, the articulating arms should all be angled the same way, (over then down) If one got switched to going down then over, it would think the truck is sitting lower than it is and try to overcompensate. Just one of the possibilities, and I have seen it when unknowing mechs at independent shops either have the suspension apart or simply play with the sensors.

I got a simple question though... did you say in post# 6 that it is under warranty? If so, just bring it to the dealer and let them deal with it! They have the best diagnosing software possible that also gives you guided test plans and all that jazz. In addition to trained techs that deal with the same cars day after day, so they know them extensively.

Heres the latest...

I took it to Stevens Creek BMW and they say it is the compressor that is bad. So now i have one independent shop telling me its a leaky airbag and the dealer telling me its the compressor. Note that while the car sat for a week while i sorted out the warranty (which still is not sorted out!) the car did not lower itself at all, which from posts here would seem to indicate that the bag is not leaking.

So, i will most likely get the compressor fixed and then drive it for a while only to find out that the bag is leaking or something else is actually wrong - if any of the posts on here are anything to go by.

I will keep updating as things progress, if for no other reason than someone else can learn from my symptoms and ultimate resolution.

Well, good luck! But keep in mind the dealer will stand behind its work more than the indy. If the indy misdiagnosis he will shoot you an estimate for the next thing he thinks it needs. But if the dealer misdiagnosis and you have to return, they hold the tech responsible for his work. But sometimes you gotta fix one problem to find another...

OK - so heres the latest - the compressor and the two front suspension level sensors will be replaced under parts warranty. It will be done by Friday so i should have a good update over the weekend as to whether or not that actually fixes the problem. Weird that all three of those things would go at at once, and other posts with sensor issues appear to have resulted in the car sitting low.

Well, that depends on how the sensor readings are affected when failing. Voltage signals do weird shit when you throw bad resistance readings in the mix. But thats awesome that it is all covered under parts warranty!

so I just got a call. First one of the two front sensors was bad so they had to wait till today to get the new one. Now that they have it in it is reading one or both as upside down. So if they put them in upside down they read right. So he has put his head tech on it and hopes to have an answer by tuesday. If any one has any ideas feel free to throw them out there.

Well - do me a favor and go eat some ginko biloba or something and get that memory back. I was hoping someone might have seen this weirdness before and i could just tell the tech where to look - saving us all some time and money.
