Anyone paint their exterior chrome window trim to black?

One of the things i don't like about my 04 X5 4.4i non-sport pkg is the chrome window trim that's on it. Has anyone tried to paint the trim to black? Any pictures?

My thought was to remove the trim (using Fulanito's pictures as a guide), wet sand with a fine grit sandpaper, then spray paint a flat or glossy black. What do you think?

there is a product on the market called Chrome Black. Specifically designed to do this. I have not used it, but abuddy used it on his 1970 1/2 camaro and he thought it was a feasible product.

Cost is a bit high just for the trim. In either scenario, the original trim needs to be removed. If that's the case, I'd like to try painting.

Use SEMS black trim paint...it matches the original and is easy to apply. Just scuff up the existing chrome w/ 400 grit sandpaper, clean, and paint.

I never used it, but my friend sais he wiped it on, kinda like a stain. We really thought it looked nice. It somehow kept a little shine.
