This happened to me And I found mine on top of the Skid Plate under the truck

They r sitting on the reinforcement plate on the bottom of the chassis. I dropped an injection clip and thought it disappeared until I found it sitting there on aluminum

Or there in the fender wells. Take off the two 8mm screws in the tire well that holds the bumper on and there is a little pocket right behind the fenderwell

Get yourself a telescoping, magnetic wand from Sears or your favorite tool vendor. Start poking around with it in the locations mentioned above and you have a pretty good chance of recovering your dropped bolts.

Just hold the magnet next to or underneath the bolt you are removing so when it falls, it is attracted to the magnet and you just pull it out of the engine bay. I have 3 different size wand magnets because I have been in your shoes before. Good luck with it!
