installed my x-pipe this morn !!

so i had them cut out the resonator and add the x pipe that i got from autoanything.com for $80 this morning !!

took about 2.5hrs to do perfectly , i gave the guy a $20 and said make sure this thing is done right, as i stood in the bay door and watch and commented the whole way !!

as for the end result just what i was looking for , not anywhere near as raspy as my 4.6 was with the strait pipes that just sounded farty !! a bit louder and throatier imho with the same sound as stock just louder , no intrusion in the cabin , and no prob's !!
power seems to be fine and didnt feel any loss in torque which i was afraid of !! they charged me $80

a good modd imho !

so you prefer the xpipe over the straight pipes? I am trying to decide which one to get.

2.25"-2.5" x pipe will do just fine. magnaflow makes one

Weasel will become famous soon enough
I am installing straight pipes with these resonators on my 4.6is this saturday. (in place of the stock resonator naturally) Would be curious of the sound difference if I installed an x-pipe behind them as I will still have room...

But I do hope to have room to properly install some cutouts with QTP actuators on them in the near future for that extra growl at the flip of a switch when I want it.

Hey weasel56 ... I was checking out the QTP electric cutouts on their website. It's sweeet! However, I didn't see any pricing info. Do you have an idea about how much it is?

I did the 2.25" Xpipe from magnaflow along with the Supersprint exhaust last spring... Nice rumble......I like how it gurgles on down shifts..very throaty! w/LIX5..no intrusion in the cabin!!

great mod for the money!! I too was on the fence about straight pipes.....the xpipe just gave it that nice rumblw without a raspy farty sound at certain rpm's! I have heard both in person...xpipe is the way to go....but I would like to hear and see pics of Weasel56 with the straight pipes and aftermarket resonators....that could be a very tatsy mod...
