Wow - wonder what happens to the warranty for the air suspension if there is a problem. It's still in effect for a few years and thousands of miles. I'm starting to run out of excuses!

I hear ya, I'm just thinking that if the air suspension fails for whatever reason under warranty the dealer's technician will find the module and possibly kick out the warranty claim. I'm probably being paranoid but the thought of a major bill is something I'd avoid for sure. I'm going to put this on the mod list post warranty. Thanks

Decided to go for x pipe next - looking through threads to finalize what path to take. I'm planning on using stock exhaust with the x-pipe. One potential change though, probably not worth the effort but considering it. Occasionally I will have clients with me in the X and I don't want a loud exhaust. When it's just me, loud isn't a problem.

I've got no problem with loud ... my 67 Mustang cruiser/street rod with a 331 stroker motor running through 2.5 inch exhaust with Flowmaster series 40's will set off car alarms in parking lots.

What I can't really tell yet is how much louder the x pipe will make the X. So, I'm considering having muffler flanges welded onto the x pipe, the resonator and the pipes in front of and behind the x pipe. Then I can quickly swap out the x pipe if needed and then back. It is a fair amount of welding but it makes for quick swaps.

How much louder is an x pipe over the stock 06 4.8is exhaust?

Thoughts on the flanges for quick swap outs?

Thanks.

The X-pipe with the stock exhaust is not loud at all inside the vehicle. In fact you almost can't tell the difference when driving conservatively. BUT if you get it up in the RPM range it does sound very good, especially from the outside.

You would have NO need to swap out the exhaust, just don't get on it when you want to keep it quiet.

That sure would make it simpler. It sounds exactly like what I want.

Feel the M3 wheel and you will know what you are missing.

I will have to check it out the difference on a E46 M3.

I also have an E36 M3 with the 3 spoke M3 wheel and the X5 wheel feels just as good as the M3 wheel.
