Can I manually adjust my 2001 rear air suspension?
Here's why I'm asking. I have a 2001 X5 4.4 sport and my rear air suspension SOMETIMES leaks down when the vehicle is parked. Sometimes it will do it in an hour, sometimes it takes a day or more, and sometimes it can sit for days without it happening.
Last time it was in the shop (for something else) my mechanic told me he had "adjusted" the rear height because it was slightly lower on one side. after he did this, my suspension didn't drift down while parked for about 3 months straight.
Then it started happening again...
I would guess I have a leak, but then I wasn't so sure after he "adjusted" it, and it was working well for so long.
At the time, I didn't ask him how he "adjusted" it, but I was imagining there is some type of fine adjustment bolt to ensure they are level. I can't afford a to take it in right now, so if there's something I can do in the myself, I want to try.
Thanks,
Andy
