Question Can I manually adjust my 2001 rear air suspension?

Here's why I'm asking. I have a 2001 X5 4.4 sport and my rear air suspension SOMETIMES leaks down when the vehicle is parked. Sometimes it will do it in an hour, sometimes it takes a day or more, and sometimes it can sit for days without it happening.

Last time it was in the shop (for something else) my mechanic told me he had "adjusted" the rear height because it was slightly lower on one side. after he did this, my suspension didn't drift down while parked for about 3 months straight.

Then it started happening again...

I would guess I have a leak, but then I wasn't so sure after he "adjusted" it, and it was working well for so long.

At the time, I didn't ask him how he "adjusted" it, but I was imagining there is some type of fine adjustment bolt to ensure they are level. I can't afford a to take it in right now, so if there's something I can do in the myself, I want to try.

Thanks,
Andy

Does anyone know if there is a manual adjustment for the rear air suspension?

Unfortunately not, it is set by the GT1 diagnostic computer at the dealer.

Then what might my mechanic have been talking about when he said he adjusted it?

That I don't know. The suspension reads left side and right side ride heights from the level sensors at the control arms, which are not mechanically adjustable. The proper way to adjust it is to activate the pump/valves either up or down with the GT1 until it is at the correct ride height then set the "zero setpoint" in the EHC suspension computer. I'm wondering if he "adjusted" it by bending the sensor mounting bracket? Or if he just said he adjusted it after not really doing anything to make you think he did something worthwhile... yet another reason to consider the dealer for specialized systems as the indy probably has no previous experience of knowledge of the EHC system.
