Still looking forward to seeing the pics with the spacers ;-)

(oops... just saw the pics from this link. Sorry)

Would you think 30mm for the rear would be too much?

Thanks.

Thanks guys, I don't think the 30mm would be too much asfter having the 20mms on for a while now. I thought I posted some pics...possibly on another thread...in any event, I have my grungy winter wheels and rubber on right now, I will post some pics of the 87s with the wheel spacers in March when they get thrown back on.

Thanks Hal the AFE is awesome especially in the cold winter weather here in the northeast. It may be my imagination but my X feels MUCH faster with the straight pipes, B&B exhaust and AFE. I will have to download one of those speed test programs (accelerometer) for my iPhone and see what the 0-60 is.

Yep, you posted the pics here.

Are those 87s in stagger set up?

Simon, sorry for the delay in the response, my 87s are staggered. I think the most enderrated improvement I made to the appearance of the X was painting the calipers and hubs with high temp silver brake paint, it makes a HUGE difference especially since the 87s show most of the brake components.

ljnlaw,

Do you experience any vibrations on the highway with the 20 mil spacers? Does the spacer kit come with extended lugs?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike I have not had any issues with the spacers, but you will probably have to buy the longer lugs separately. I got the spacers and lugs from VAC: BMW High Performance Tuner, Parts, Racing, Service, Autobody & Engines... in Philly, I cannot remember how much I paid.

Thanks for the quick reply Lawren. That's wonderful news, I've always heard of people having vibration issues when using spacers. That's probably because they weren't hub centric in design.

I just ordered my 87 reps and like you wanted to use the spacers to give it a wider stance. I think I'll go with your recommendation and buy them through VAC.

Thanks again,

Mike
