Where is my cd player located?

I just received my '06 X5 4.4 w/ navi and no 6 cd changer. However, in the specs it says I have a single CD player.
My problem is, I DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHERE I FIND THIS SINGLE CD PLAYER I only see the DVD box that is for navi at the rear of the car. N it is the one with only one LED.

Someone please direct me to the right direction

the DVD box is the navigation computer, if there is no 6 disc changer below that, it will either be behind the screen, or you don't have one. Generally, there is a tape deck behind the screen, however some models have single CD's.

Did you miss the memo? The standard procedure is to FIRST post the question on the forum THEN read the manual.

I'd try that little eject button hiding in the top right corner of the nav, and see if you are one of the few lucky enough to be blessed with the cd/nav. Most are stuck with a tape deck, which is only useful for playing an ipod through cassette adapter. Or if you have young kids... hiding cool things like raisin boxes!

And if not, you should be pre-wired for cd changer anyways... just add it.

The most amazing thing to me is that in freakin 2006 BMW has not yet realized that cassette tapes are completely obsolete! They might as well put in the good 'ol 8-track player in the dash and a phonograph in the back! Sure they can revolutionize engine management with variable valve lift and quad cam timing control, add x-drive etc... but they have a tape deck! Mind you a tape deck run on a highly advanced fiber optic bus communication system, but a tape deck none the less.

And if the X was spec'ed with a cd player but doesn't have one... bring it to where you just bought it and tell them you bought it under the impression it had a player, and ask if they are willing to help you out... can't hurt. Just be nice about it, people are more willing to help.

I think if you get it from the dealer it is $595 (PN: 65 12 6 983 336). You can install it yourself and get one off ebay or a forum though and save a bundle, it is pretty easy to install, especially with the instructions on the front page.
