I dont think X5 16:9 and 4:3 screens comes with CD player slot, they are all tape.

that's normal. Some friends of mine realized later on that previous owners have removed the cd changer and therefore, they dont have CD player.

Skip the cd player and get a Dice or Intravee II... (if you have an iPod).

Did any X5 actually come with CD / Nav? If so, do you have a part number?

I revived this thread since I'm curious if a CD / Nav unit from say a E46 will physically fit the space.

And if not, you should be pre-wired for cd changer anyways... just add it.

I think since then I realized the E53's never came with CD player NAV screen... And if I remember right the issue was clearance for the back of the unit due to air ducts/HVAC box etc. But the E46 one should work electronically being an I-bus unit, but not sure it would physically fit.

Interesting. I now know how to adjust the screen so that the on-axis display is correct even if the unit isn't for that car. Just clearance is the issue now.?!

I believe so. But I don't have personal experience with attempting swapping either... so if you have access to one to try it may be worth it.
