miles to kilometers

Hi Help please.

I have a 2006 X5 300i.
I live in Canada where we go by kilometers & Celcius. I bought my BMW in California and I have a problem
On page 73 of the manual it deals with Odometer, trip odometer and outside temperature display. these are the 3 meters in a cluster with the speedometer etc. Now my odometer reads in miles, my trip odometer reads in miles and my temp display reads in celcius.
All other displays on the computer are in kilometers except the above 2.
Anyone got any suggestions as to how I can convert these "miles" to
"Kilometers". I assumed that when I changed the temp from Farenheit to celcius as per page 73/74 the miles would also change but they dont.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
