Tax Bill

Got my tax bill for my 2006 X5 a week ago. It was $882 for this year. They had estimated the value at $40,000 which is $4K more than I paid back in 2007.

So I look up the KBB value to appeal the tax assessment and it lists my X @ 28K.

I go in to appeal and the state resets the tax at $620.

So, there is something good about the value of your vehicle plummeting.

Yeah, it's a always a 2-edged sword with the economy - up or down.

Now, it's easier to get into an X but the people who already have an X are seing their value deteriorate. Win some, lose some.

We have a County Tax, here in HillbillyHeaven, on every vehicle
one owns: cars, m'cycles, scooters, snowmobiles, trailers, SeaDoos,
ATVs, etc. With 3 m'cycles and 3 cars, it ain't a fun bill to get...
they do put a much less than book value on all the rides, however.

Gov't@"work", imo.

Excise went down, too... I only have to pay $350 a year for the life of my E90... which may be limited at this point.
I fear what the "low" bill on an X6 would be, let alone initial. When the 325xi was new, that was a $1000+ tax bill!
