X5 lifespan?

Assuming I maintain my '04 4.8is well, how many miles will it last as a reliable, generally problem -free daily driver? Put differently, I've got 48k on the clock now, which I see as still relatively "young", and am wondering whether 75k, 100k, 125k, or more is a realistic lifespan. Any experiences welcome. Thanks

150k is when major systems seem to start to go on my previous BMW's. Having a transmission fail after 10 years in service will near total most BMW's based on replacement cost.

am at 93k, just had the brakes & rotors done - everything running great and I frankly expect my X5 to outlive me, as it's in my will to go to my nephew

I hate to speak and spoil my flow but I have not had major problems with my BMW's. I had a E21 3-Series that I put over 300K miles on, it was stolen as I tried to sell it, then I put another 300K on a E30 3-series and sold it, I saw it about two years ago and it was still on the road running strong. Now I have a E32 7-series with 299K no major problems or fixes, plus my E53 X5 with 98K miles on it. Now while changing the oil Friday, I gave it a good look over from the underside and noticed a bushing I need to replace because of dry roting and one of my cv boots lost the clamp that holds it tight. So this is all part of preventive maintenance that I take care of to keep it running strong. Plus I run all of them with premium gas as suggested, and fully synthetic oil.

What I am trying to say is I trust both of my BMW's to jump in and run 1000 miles to my hometown without issues. With proper care and regular oil changes, they should last you for a long time...... I know mine have and thats why I am so in love with BMW!!!

They say if you cut me I will bleed BMW, but thats all because I have loved them and driven them since my first one back in 1989. They have always treated me right so I stand by them...

There is no reason it shouldn't last a long time, IF you keep up on the maintenance. And that means disregarding BMW's new ideas on fluid change intervals. Change all your fluids now, your transmission, your differentials, your transfer case, brake fluid, antifreeze. And do it again in another 30k miles.
Also need to keep up on the little issues as they pop up, which they will. Most of these problems are well documented on this site.
My 4.4l just ticked over 100k miles, friends get in it and think its a nearly-new car. I expect to put another 100k on it.
