Homelink - Hardwiring

Hi,

I just got a homelink unit this am and opened up the top compartment where it slots in, only to find out that I dont have a cable up there for my Homelink. Maybe this is because it`s a uk spec but I`m not sure.

So I need help. Can somebody tell me what the wiring is for these, including a pinout or description of which pin youre talking about. I`m not bothered about it lighting up, just so long as it works.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

P.s. I`m planning on tapping in to the lighting cable.

It's probably bundled up with some other wires and hidden away. You should look for a white 3-pin connector. Look at this link => http://www.ideaphile.com/bmw/v1/index.html where this guy is hardwiring his V1 radar detector into the Homelink power wire. Although...the link shows a 5-series, but I'm suspecting that BMW will hide the bundled wire in a similar place for those who don't have homelink.

ive looked everywhere for that wire but it`s deffo not there. Anyway I`ve hard wired my gate remote in to the switch unit now, just connected lights up and switch 3 straight in to my own remote. Looks great and works great. Old homelink PCB is now in the bin.

I know on my 3 series, you had to look around there with your fingers. It was pretty hidden away up on the top.

The wire is up there. You just have find it. It's wrapped in black felt tape all the way down to the connector so it may not be obvious.
