window regulator problem!!!

after replacing the window regulator on my (front passenger side)...that common recall we all problably will have to do soon...or have already done....its one problem after another. -my power locks on that side is stopped working? ...any reason why...also..the window doesnt go up on the one touch button feature, but goes down....anyone experience this problem....or is it just a common error that can stupidly be fixed with my eyes closed? ....at least i got the window working properly

If all the malfunctions are associated with the same door and all took place after the regulator was replaced, it's too coincidental. Take it back the dealer.

Double checked to make sure the wiring connectors are properly seated into the switch module, and that there are no pinched wires.

Its common and the reason is the plastic bit which holed the window with the window lifter breaks easy. You will notates that the window slowly going up and down next thing it’s stopped after few weeks or days. What I did I changed all the plastic bits and saved my self changing the hull window lifters for the rest of my windows.

The fix is easy. Use plastic tie down to fix the broken plastic piece. I just fixed my 3 series tonight. Check out the e46fanatics.com forum under DIY and search for window regulator. Bmw has the same parts for the windows in the 3 as it does in the x5's.

Sounds like you have have a loose wire on that door, check all the wires. There is a black box that is close to the main speaker on the door panel. Check that box. The box seems to have all the wires coming in and out of it.
