Question Dinan Engine & Trans Software

I have a little over 59k miles on my 2002 4.6is and it runs REAL strong with no engine or trans. problems (KNOCK ON WOOD). I installed the AFE CAI and a B&B Triflow exhaust, and I am setting up an appointment this month to have the Dinan Stage 1 Engine and Trans software installed. Questions:

(1) Am I going to notice a difference; and

(2) Will the Dinan software upgrades decrease the life expectancy of my X's trans.?

Thanks Lawren

Dinan X5 mods

V-

I have an 03 4.6 that I had Dinan put their S3 package on. I don't think that gains that you will get from the Stage 1 package that you looking at would cause failure of your tranny or torque converter. I have had a SC on my X for almost four years and take it to the track as well as drive it allot (last week 1341 miles). And only now at 98 K miles am I seeing an issue with the tranny/torque converter.

Dinan is very good about doing allot of research to make sure the modifications that they offer don't negatively effect the car.

yes....you will see gains from Stage 1....and no, the tranny SW will not strain the transmission

have had the Dinan S2 since 42K, now 93K - no problems at all, quicker response, actually see a little better mileage, redline now 6200, am glad I did it - good luck with yours

Lawren,

I just made an appt with my INDY - to get both the Dinan Engine and Tranny Soft...also going to shut my damn DRL's off! I have the AFE CAE and the xpipe mod along with the Supersprint Exhaust.......can't wait for the software upgrade.....The difference will be noticable to say the least...you will be just fine with the stage 1......especially with your mods working in conjunction.......THX for the post ..it reminded me to get this done!

Rich
