Cleaning the key?

Over time, my key that I use the most has become a bit dirty and worn looking. I was wondering what the best method is for cleaning it really well and get it looking a bit newer. I don't want to damage it with any harsh chemicals, so what do you all recommend for the job? I'm thinking diluted alcohol on a Q tip for the crevices? Maybe just warm water with diluted soap and elbow grease to get the rest? Any ideas?

If it is that bad..I think you should get a new one, or use the spare.

Just be carefull not to get too much cleaner into the key and fry the electronics... when using the cleaner, less is more!

And you talking about the black plastic part or the brass key part?

I'm talking about the brass/metallic part mostly. It doesn't look as shiny as it did a few years ago. I just wasn't sure if using chemicals to brighten it up would affect anything negatively.

And no, it's not "that bad" but I like everything to look shiny and new, and over time everything eventually shows wear
