Wiper noise (not motor)

So maybe this has been discussed before but a quick search didn't turn up anything substantial. Wondering if anyone else thinks that the wipers on their X5 are really loud. This is an '02 and compared to my '00 Land Rover DII(which when operating you literally can't hear) these are as loud as an old chevy with vacuum wipers, well maybe that's a stretch. Seems strange BMW would go to as much trouble to insulate the cabin/engine/under carriage yet neglect the slapping sounds of the wipers...is it just me. Do the Bosch Icons fix this...I installled new refill blades but there was no improvement...
thanks
jeff

bump
I will ask the question again more simply: when the x5's wipers are operating, are they noticeably loud, ie the back and forth wiping action produces a lot of audible noise in the cabin. Seems excessive to me
thanks

So after some investigation the noise problem has been solved. Turns out that one of the three bolts holding the motor to the drive assy frame was missing and the other two were very loose. BMW does not sell the bolts seperately they are a part of the drive assy. Had one laying around that would work so installed in missing hole, tightened other two and voila all noise is gone. Silent operation. The noise was caused by the slop in the wiper drive assy. Replaced the blades at the same time figured they were worn from banging around either side of the windscreen...hope this helps someone who may have similar symptons....
