nice!, those are definitely not safe anymore, you should never drive on tires with the steel belts showing

Always seem to be blazing new trails. At least now I can put off buying new tires till the spring. Still cant decide between 4 new General Grabber UHP's or just 2 of the oem Mx4's as they are very easy to come by used.

Yup they look dodgy, my rears are worn too, but not down too the steel wires showing, last time I drove with a tire like that it blew on me, I have searched high and low and found that toyo proxy st's seem to be a good mid range tire....can't get re-moulds or second hand tires where I am cos the number of cars on the road with the tire size in question is limited....try http://www.tires-easy.com/ they do decent prices I think.
