Mirror Trim Replacement HELP!!

I accidently hit the passenger side mirror on my garage door as I was backing in and cracked the mirror trim and mirror. The mirror motor still works, but I need to replace the actual mirror glass and the mirror trim. Any ideas on where I can find black trim and the mirror glass? Has anyone every replaced the mirror glass? Thanks for the help.

HI...My husband di the same thing except on the driver's side mirror on my X5...EBay has titanium trim pieces if that would work with your SAV but mine needs the black...Go to Realoem.com and enter your vehicle...go to Vehicle Trim in the drop down menu then choose doors and outside mirrors in the sub catagory...you will see several choices for the glass and the trim for your mirror...take your time and read carefully...I have not yet gone out to the garage to check but if you need black there a ppears to be a glossy black and a flat black trim piece...once you get the right part selct and copy the part number and open a new window...go to Pelicanparts.com They will special order the parts you need...just make sure you get the right part as there are no returns on special orders unless THEY make a mistake!!! Good luck...He did not crack the mirror glass on my X5, but I seem to remember replacing glass on a different car yars ago and we did so with an adhesive...The great thing about Realoem is that you are looking at expanded diagrams of the parts you are looking for and often that gives you an idea of what is involved in the repair!

The mirror glass is expensive $100 and the black trim piece is roughly $45...If someone knows a cheaper source I would very much appreciate the advice...I hope this helps!
