Meyle control arms quality
84410 Miles: I replaced the original lower control arms with OEM parts(31126760275 and 276). These were not replaced because they had an issue, but I was replacing the CV shafts (entire). 127118 Miles: Date 1-14-19, Due to the braking shimmy It was time to replace the front thrust arms, so this round I thought I would roll the dice and go with Meyle. While I was at it I replaced everything (I was there), thrust arms 31126769718 and 17, control arms (wish bones) as above (Meyle). Lower ball joints 31126756491(Febi/Bilsten). 157242 Miles: Both Meyle control arms are completely shot (the ball joint end) at 30k miles. I would add to this that the drivers side started rattling around after 15k miles. I thought i was the strut as the other parts were so new. They were so loose I could move the ball joint in and out with my hand once off the vehicle. I replaced these with Lemfeorder from Turner motorsport (They sell Meyle too). As I understand Lemfoerder is OEM supplier anyway. Smooth as glass now. All this with the same drivers, we have owned it since new. This X has about 25% highway miles. The Meyle thrust arms have thus far held up, but do have one crack in the bushing end. The Febi/Bilsten ball joint has not been issue either. Regardless future choice will be Lemfeorder or OEM. |

Good information. This spring/summer I intend to replace most of the suspension components as I'm still running all original parts at ~86k and was looking at Meyle as an alternative to OEM.
